NEW! Patterns of Eastern White Pine Publication Now Available2009-05-28

Needing to replace the out-of-print single-sheet Eastern Pattern Chart, NELMA has taken the opportunity to significantly upgrade its showcasing of the 23 standard patterns of Eastern White Pine with a new publication.  Now available for distribution, the NELMA Patterns of Eastern White Pine is printed in a 4” by 9” horizontal format that devotes a single page to each of the standard patterns.

The precisely-detailed measurements for each pattern are clearly visible on the page printed in high-resolution Eastern White Pine wood grain.  The pattern profile itself is reversed out of the grain in white to enhance its uniqueness. In addition, an illustration of the final “look” of two pattern pieces is shown on the page as an inset.  This 32-page publication also includes a couple of eye-catching full-page photos of end-use examples, with summary text to remind specifiers of the many reasons why Eastern White Pine is the best choice for interior and exterior design.

“This new brochure fits well with our ongoing plan of providing a full-spectrum of high-quality, dual-purpose design and specification publcations, not only for use by NELMA members with their customers but also as a marketing tool in the Association’s outreach to the design/build community”, according to Jeff Easterling, NELMA President.

Take a sneak peak of the complete publication to view first-hand all of the enhancements that have been done.  A complimentary copy will be mailed to NELMA’s membership the first week in July along with ordering instructions to obtain additional copies for $2.00 each. Please note that each of the 23 patterns will continue to be available online individually at the NELMA website for viewing and printing.

Eastern White Pine VS. Radiata Pine. Learn about these two species in a side by side comparison. Who will be victorious?

Founded in 1933, the Northeastern Lumber Manufacturer's Association (NELMA) is one of seven lumber rules writing agencies in the U.S. accredited by the American Lumber Standard Committee (ALSC) to write grade rules that are certified as conforming to the American Softwood Lumber Standard PS20.  NELMA is the official author and administrator of the grading rules for Eastern White Pine, in particular.

In addition to the quality control inspection audits we conduct at lumber manufacturers to ensure that on-grade Eastern White Pine products are meeting the needs of consumers, NELMA develops and distributes an array of technical information and unique promotional materials via our member-driven marketing program.  We encourage you to browse through the pages of this website and discover why Eastern White Pine is the very best choice when wood is considered, both environmentally sustainable and application versatile.
