Malaysia and Sri Lanka became the latest to join the growing global community that have either already implemented the International Standard for Wood Packaging (ISPM 15) or have announced plans to start in the near future. This brings the total to 76 countries and territories that now have the requirement for 
all inbound wood packaging using solid wood components, such as pallets, skids, crates, boxes, and dunnage, to be heat treated or fumigated (and properly stamped) prior to entering their ports.

Founded in 1933, the Northeastern Lumber Manufacturer's Association (NELMA) is one of seven lumber rules writing agencies in the U.S. accredited by the American Lumber Standard Committee (ALSC) to write grade rules that are certified as conforming to the American Softwood Lumber Standard PS20. NELMA is the official author and administrator of the grading rules for Eastern White Pine, in particular.
