Eastern White Pine Export Publication Now Available in Four Languages2009-10-26

The first publication specifically developed for use in potential foreign markets for Eastern White Pine is now ready for distribution.   NELMA has taken its high-resolution photography of the 5 primary grades of Eastern White Pine and added 4 pages of end-use photos, plus an introduction page, to complete the 10-page “Eastern White Pine From the USA” brochure.

Thanks to NELMA’s membership in the Softwood Export Council (SEC), the publication has been translated and printed in Spanish, French, Chinese, and the “King’s” English (UK).   The bulk of the inventory has been shipped to SEC offices in Europe, Mexico, and China for use by personnel of the American Softwoods offices in activities appropriate for educating potential customers on Eastern White Pine.   A limited quantity is available from the NELMA Office to Association members that may be involved with direct promotional activities in foreign countries. Just give us a call (207-829-6901) or email (info@nelma.org) for further details.

Eastern White Pine VS. Radiata Pine. Learn about these two species in a side by side comparison. Who will be victorious?

Founded in 1933, the Northeastern Lumber Manufacturer's Association (NELMA) is one of seven lumber rules writing agencies in the U.S. accredited by the American Lumber Standard Committee (ALSC) to write grade rules that are certified as conforming to the American Softwood Lumber Standard PS20.  NELMA is the official author and administrator of the grading rules for Eastern White Pine, in particular.

In addition to the quality control inspection audits we conduct at lumber manufacturers to ensure that on-grade Eastern White Pine products are meeting the needs of consumers, NELMA develops and distributes an array of technical information and unique promotional materials via our member-driven marketing program.  We encourage you to browse through the pages of this website and discover why Eastern White Pine is the very best choice when wood is considered, both environmentally sustainable and application versatile.
