NELMA's 2010 Buyer’s Guide2010-01-28

NELMA's 2010 Buyer’s Guide is now available for distribution to potential customers of quality softwood products produced and distributed by members of the Association. This annually-updated version continues last year’s conveniently-sized (4 ½ “ x 6”) and spiral-bound format. The “one-page per member” printing displays company contact details, products produced, and other vital specifics, as provided by the membership during the revision process

The 2010 edition is indexed for handy reference and divided into the following five membership categories:

• Lumber Manufacturers (alphabetical by state)
• Secondary Products Manufacturers (alphabetical)
• Lumber Wholesalers (alphabetical)
• Industrial Equipment Manufacturers (alphabetical)
• Industrial Services Providers (alphabetical)

Traditionally, NELMA debuts its revised Guide at the February NRLA Retailer Expo in Boston.  More than 500 of the Guides will be distributed throughout the calendar year as part of NELMA's marketing effort on behalf of the membership. This information is also available as a popular search item on the nelma.org and easternwhitepine.org websites, under the "Product Locator" tab.

Members of the Association will receive their copy in the mail the first week of February.  Additional copies may be obtained free of charge by contacting NELMA by phone (207-829-6901), fax (207-829-4293) or email info@nelma.org

Eastern White Pine VS. Radiata Pine. Learn about these two species in a side by side comparison. Who will be victorious?

Founded in 1933, the Northeastern Lumber Manufacturer's Association (NELMA) is one of seven lumber rules writing agencies in the U.S. accredited by the American Lumber Standard Committee (ALSC) to write grade rules that are certified as conforming to the American Softwood Lumber Standard PS20.  NELMA is the official author and administrator of the grading rules for Eastern White Pine, in particular.

In addition to the quality control inspection audits we conduct at lumber manufacturers to ensure that on-grade Eastern White Pine products are meeting the needs of consumers, NELMA develops and distributes an array of technical information and unique promotional materials via our member-driven marketing program.  We encourage you to browse through the pages of this website and discover why Eastern White Pine is the very best choice when wood is considered, both environmentally sustainable and application versatile.
