Building Products Digest Spotlights Eastern White Pine2010-10-01

Check out the September issue of Building Products Digest for this year’s annual spotlight on Eastern White Pine!   This is the seventh consecutive year that the Digest has published its yearly special section that showcases the species and the Association.   NELMA is pleased to have provided two articles for the 7-page insert.   This included a thorough review of the environmental advantages of Eastern White Pine in an article titled, “Building Today, Benefiting Tomorrow”. The second article is a 4-page recount on helpful items developed by NELMA to assist lumber retailers in selling Eastern White Pine products, titled “Marketing Eastern White Pine: 10 Tools to Help Get the Job Done”.

A special thanks to Alan Oakes, Publisher of Building Products Digest, for providing NELMA with this opportunity to get the word out about Eastern White Pine to their 17,000+ subscribers.   In addition, NELMA would like to thank the Association members that made this special section possible through their advertisements: Hancock Lumber, Seaboard International Forest Products, Sandy Neck Traders, and H.G. Wood Industries.

Eastern White Pine VS. Radiata Pine. Learn about these two species in a side by side comparison. Who will be victorious?

Founded in 1933, the Northeastern Lumber Manufacturer's Association (NELMA) is one of seven lumber rules writing agencies in the U.S. accredited by the American Lumber Standard Committee (ALSC) to write grade rules that are certified as conforming to the American Softwood Lumber Standard PS20.  NELMA is the official author and administrator of the grading rules for Eastern White Pine, in particular.

In addition to the quality control inspection audits we conduct at lumber manufacturers to ensure that on-grade Eastern White Pine products are meeting the needs of consumers, NELMA develops and distributes an array of technical information and unique promotional materials via our member-driven marketing program.  We encourage you to browse through the pages of this website and discover why Eastern White Pine is the very best choice when wood is considered, both environmentally sustainable and application versatile.
