NELMA has just introduced its latest marketing tool for Eastern White Pine, a "Swatch" book of the five primary grades of Eastern White Pine. Inspired by a swatch book fan similar to what is typically seen as a painter’s pantone color reference, the new format rests 8" x 1¾" in size. The information on the swatches provide all of the same Eastern White Pine grade characteristic information and design elements as the full-page grade sheets, yet in a portable, functional format. This industry-unique and inventive format was created to appeal to both architects and designers. It may also be used as a general marketing item by Eastern White Pine manufacturers wishing to simply catch the attention of their customers. Founded in 1933, the Northeastern Lumber Manufacturer's Association (NELMA) is one of seven lumber rules writing agencies in the U.S. accredited by the American Lumber Standard Committee (ALSC) to write grade rules that are certified as conforming to the American Softwood Lumber Standard PS20.
