PROTECT YOUR IPPC & HT QUALITY MARK STAMPS! 2007-06-22

The importance of protecting your individual IPPC and/or HT quality mark stamps cannot be over emphasized. The loss, theft or misuse of your stamps creates a tremendous liability for your company and the potential loss of certification in the program!

As a reminder and as stated in the agreement signed by each facility that subscribed to NELMA’s Wood Packaging Material’s inspection services….

Agreement Item No. 10: “The Facility agrees: to use only official quality mark stamps furnished by the Agency. The Facility will not mutilate the stamps or permit their alteration in any way and will take reasonable measures to protect and safeguard the stamps against damage, theft or misuse.”

NELMA Inspectors will begin checking your stamp inventory as part of their standard inspection procedures at to your facility.  Never throw away or destroy any quality mark stamps….save them and give to your NELMA Inspector to officially remove them from your inventory. Working together with these periodic inventory checks will help ensure the protection of your company’s integrity and that of the overall export packaging program.

If you have any questions or wish to order replacement stamps and/or supplies please ask your NELMA Inspector, call the NELMA office at 207-829-6901 or email donna@nelma.org .

Eastern White Pine VS. Radiata Pine. Learn about these two species in a side by side comparison. Who will be victorious?

Founded in 1933, the Northeastern Lumber Manufacturer's Association (NELMA) is one of seven lumber rules writing agencies in the U.S. accredited by the American Lumber Standard Committee (ALSC) to write grade rules that are certified as conforming to the American Softwood Lumber Standard PS20.  NELMA is the official author and administrator of the grading rules for Eastern White Pine, in particular.

In addition to the quality control inspection audits we conduct at lumber manufacturers to ensure that on-grade Eastern White Pine products are meeting the needs of consumers, NELMA develops and distributes an array of technical information and unique promotional materials via our member-driven marketing program.  We encourage you to browse through the pages of this website and discover why Eastern White Pine is the very best choice when wood is considered, both environmentally sustainable and application versatile.
