Building Products Digest Spotlights Eastern White Pine2007-09-28

A Spotlight on Eastern White Pine has become a fall tradition and regular feature in the September issue of Building Products Digest since 2004, but this year’s issue tops them all! Located in the center section of the publication beginning with NELMA’s full page “She Loves Me, She Loves me Knot.” ad, a full 12 pages has been devoted to information about the Association and one of the northeast’s signature species.

Feature articles on end-use testimonials along with a review of marketing tools available to lumber retailers, brokers, and wholesalers from NELMA to assist in the promotion and sale of the product, are included within the special section. Additional text is given on heat treatment and its role in stemming the tide of global invasion of non-native pests, and NELMA’s role in the process. And, the rebirth of the widely-acclaimed “White Pine Series of Monographs” is also part of press given by the magazine. The dozen pages of information is supplemented by advertising support from the members of NELMA that see this annual spotlight as an opportunity to proudly convey information about their products to the magazine’s readership of potential customers.

Eastern White Pine VS. Radiata Pine. Learn about these two species in a side by side comparison. Who will be victorious?

Founded in 1933, the Northeastern Lumber Manufacturer's Association (NELMA) is one of seven lumber rules writing agencies in the U.S. accredited by the American Lumber Standard Committee (ALSC) to write grade rules that are certified as conforming to the American Softwood Lumber Standard PS20.  NELMA is the official author and administrator of the grading rules for Eastern White Pine, in particular.

In addition to the quality control inspection audits we conduct at lumber manufacturers to ensure that on-grade Eastern White Pine products are meeting the needs of consumers, NELMA develops and distributes an array of technical information and unique promotional materials via our member-driven marketing program.  We encourage you to browse through the pages of this website and discover why Eastern White Pine is the very best choice when wood is considered, both environmentally sustainable and application versatile.
