BOSTON FOR A BUCK! NELMA Convention, April 2 & 3, 20092009-02-02

There is no doubt that the current and ongoing economic crisis is dramatically affecting the forest products industry, impacting everyone's ability to attend important industry meetings.   To support the membership in these times, NELMA is extremely pleased to offer some good news regarding the upcoming NELMA Annual Convention….a member registration fee of only $1 to attend the April 2 & 3 meeting. That’s a $249 value!

The NELMA convention offers a unique and viable forum for members to network with fellow lumber manufacturers, wholesalers and other industry representatives – perhaps never as important as now!  It’s a chance to keep abreast of critical issues while offering the opportunity to discuss and provide direct input on common challenges and goals for the betterment of the Northeastern lumber industry and the Association.

NELMA understands that budgets and expenses are stretched like never before, but think about this…..our $1 reduced-rate registration fee will help offset the cost of one-night's lodging in Boston and perhaps allow you to consider staying a second night as well to enjoy the city, the theatre, and just simply forget about the business climate for a few hours.

The 1 ½ day condensed schedule of events will be packed with informative industry committee sessions and speakers, special industry awards, comedian Bob Marley (hey, we all need a good laugh) and a trip back to the ‘80’s with the music from Dirty Dancing – our special Friday, April 3rd theatre trip complete with dress circle tickets…..all at an exceptionally reasonable cost.

As a group, we can stand united and help each other weather this economic storm!  Click here for complete details, registration and reservation information.

Eastern White Pine VS. Radiata Pine. Learn about these two species in a side by side comparison. Who will be victorious?

Founded in 1933, the Northeastern Lumber Manufacturer's Association (NELMA) is one of seven lumber rules writing agencies in the U.S. accredited by the American Lumber Standard Committee (ALSC) to write grade rules that are certified as conforming to the American Softwood Lumber Standard PS20.  NELMA is the official author and administrator of the grading rules for Eastern White Pine, in particular.

In addition to the quality control inspection audits we conduct at lumber manufacturers to ensure that on-grade Eastern White Pine products are meeting the needs of consumers, NELMA develops and distributes an array of technical information and unique promotional materials via our member-driven marketing program.  We encourage you to browse through the pages of this website and discover why Eastern White Pine is the very best choice when wood is considered, both environmentally sustainable and application versatile.
